Fashion Advice for Men

Myriam Touimer Fashion

One's apparel is one of the first things noticed by others, and these first impressions are long-lasting. Young men are the future of society, and dressing sharp is the first step towards becoming a professional. There is a myth, spread mostly by certain men's magazines, that being a stylish man requires tremendous effort. The truth is there are lots of easier and quicker ways to look better and more stylish with a minimum of effort. By following a few simple steps, any guy can dress to impress every day.

Start from the beginning
When you have made your mind dress with style, you’ll have to start from scratch. That doesn’t mean you should abandon of all your clothes right away. But, you should accept that, sooner or later, you’ll get rid of most of your present wardrobe, and you will trade it in for one that’s more refined and better suited.

Consider your personality when picking your clothes
It’s crucial that your clothes highlight your personality. Just make sure that you’re not projecting an image that doesn’t do you justice. You should have a wardrobe that looks great on you but don’t overdo it. Don’t wear more than more than three colors or more than three pieces of jewelry. Don’t dress like a rock star unless you’re in a band. Most of the individuals rush to get in on the latest trends and end up with a bunch of clothes they never wear. Be careful of getting something just because it’s trending right now. Instead, stick to what really suits your personality.

Get some decent footwear
There is well known saying that you can judge a man by his shoes. Appropriate-fitting footwear is another step to dressing sharp. Having a variety of shoes in your inventory will help you dress appropriately for different occasions. Changing shoes day-to-day also contributes to keep your look fresh. A quality pair of shoes will last for years and will remain this way without much effort, just some light cleaning and the occasional shine would do the trick.

Get the right fit
The most dramatic improvement that you can make in your style is to ensure everything fits perfectly. Most guys usually wear clothes that are too large or too tight. Make sure the clothes you wear are almost hugging the shape of your body without being tight. Bad fit is an epidemic. Even the finest clothes need adjustments, and a genuinely talented tailor can do that for you. He won't just take in the waist or shorten your jacket sleeves but will also guide you to style better with his expert opinion.

Do little Experiments
When you’re developing your sense of style, you want to open your mind to new types of clothing and apparel styles. You should experiment with stuff you would never have thought to wear before. The only way you’ll actually learn, is if you go out there and try new things. Try something completely out of your comfort zone whenever you’re at a store and many times you’ll end up loving something you never thought you would.

Some extra things to keep in mind
·        Always be sure that your clothes are clean, pressed, and in good condition.
·        Don't overdo the cologne. A little is always nice.
·        A good haircut complements the shape of your face. Make sure you get a haircut that’s decent and up-to-date. A good hairstylist can help you pick one.
·        Make sure to change your outfit up a little. Wearing a particular type of clothing every day or the same brand is unfashionable and boring.
